Brief Description:
The consultant will be responsible to deliver variety of complex/medium assignments in the areas of risk management, business process improvement, internal controls and internal audit.
As a member of Merit Consulting team, the Consultant plays an integral role in contributing to the successful execution of client engagements and building the firm's reputation for quality service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•   Perform engagement procedures designed to identify and define risk issues, review and analyze evidence, and document business processes. Prepare working papers to support results of procedures.
•   Conduct interviews with client team members to gain an understanding of client business conditions, risks and controls (including preparation of interview notes).
•   Analyze new legislation to determine impact on risk exposure and evaluate applicable laws and regulations to determine impact on organizational activities.
•   Plan, design and implement of an overall risk management process for the organization
•   Develop and supervise implementation of risk-assessment models or methodologies.
•   Conduct risk assessment, which involves analyzing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting business operations and areas of potential risk from internal or external resources, organizational performance, success of organizations, or industry segments, etc..
•   Document of key risk factors
•   Conduct risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organization’s previous handling of risks;
•   Establishing and quantifying the organization’s 'risk appetite', i.e. the level of risk they are prepared to accept
•   Advise on business or operational matters and recommend ways to mitigate, control or reduce risk using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.
•   Produce reports or presentations for different audiences that outline findings, explain risk positions, or recommend changes.
•   Maintain input or data quality of risk management systems and develop databases and develop systems and processes to monitor validity of risk modeling outputs
•   Plan, and contribute to development of, risk management IT systems
•   Support client in developing contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies
•   Assist in coordinating and communicating the results of consulting and internal audit projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.
•   Ensure all review notes are addressed and reviewed with the project manager.
•   Contributes to the development of project management, quality assurance and professional consulting and auditing approaches/methodologies.
•   Provides input to the project team during all phases of the project.
•   Participate in the drafting of reports and presenting draft to project manager for review and approval.
•   Related projects/work as assigned.

Qualifications:
•   CA, CMA, and/or CIA designation.
•   Masters and/or Bachelor's degree in Administration, Commerce, Public Administration.
•   8-10 years of experience in risk management, internal controls, and/or audit services in a professional services firm.
•   2+ years of demonstrated experience delivering professional services to Government of UAE clients.
•   Experience in writing internal audit and assessment reports.
•   Strong verbal and written Arabic communication skills.
•   Ability and confidence to persuade others and sell your ideas and services.
•   Proficient in the use of the Internal Audit and Risk Management IT Applications.
